About Craig

Craig Clendening - Photographer

Craig Clendening has a passion for photography. He always has. Even as a young boy he was the family photographer. Craig's interest in making photographs was greatly fueled at university, where he studied photography as part of his Bachelor of Education degree, majoring in Industrial Arts Teacher Education in 1972. Introducing the wonders of photography to young students and witnessing the awe they felt watching their images come to life in the darkroom was a powerful catalyst in leading Craig to a greater search for knowledge and experience. Soon his teaching expanded to adult education, which led to requests for portrait and wedding assignments.

In the spring of 1975 Craig went to Gene Hattori, an energetic, award winning creative photographer who operated f:11 Photographic Design in Saskatoon. Craig volunteered his two month summer holiday, wishing only to gain the experience of professional photography. Within a month of starting they talked of a partnership and opening a studio in Regina. Craig never looked back!

In 1979 Craig purchased the Regina operation and Camera One was created. Always keen for knowledge, Craig is active on the Saskatchewan Professional Photographers' Association and is a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada and the Professional Photographers of America.

Craig is extremely grateful to his clients of the past 35 years who have entrusted him to create their "Lifetime of Memories", providing him a successful career that follows his passion!
